Description
Persian Language for ATAR
Western Australian students can study Persian through Persian Language School WA, and receive credit for their study. PLSWA have qualified teachers and the authority to prepare the students for the final examinations and enrol them as non-school candidates when they are in Year 12. This can contribute to their ATAR and would currently also attract the LOTE bonus.

Ref: https://scsa.wa.edu.au/sirs-and-srms-info/srms-information/wace-language-applications
A student who intends to enrol in a Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) Language course can only do so if they have approval from the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (the Authority). For a student to gain approval to enrol, they must complete an Application for permission to enrol in a WACE Language course (Language application) via the student portal (https://studentportal.scsa.wa.edu.au/home opens in new window) while they are in Year 10* and submit it to the Authority, with the required supporting documentation, by the deadline published in the Activities Schedule. A student’s enrolment status is determined by the Authority on a case-by-case basis.
Registration for Interstate Languages (ie. Persian)
Ref: https://senior-secondary.scsa.wa.edu.au/syllabus-and-support-materials/languages/interstate-languages
Year 12 students can register with the Authority (SCSA), through their main school, to sit only the external examination in an Interstate Language as a non-school candidate, provided they sit external examinations in at least three other ATAR courses in the same year, so that the language examination mark can be scaled. The mark of the external examination can contribute towards the calculation of the student’s ATAR used for university entrance.
External examinations are:
1. available to Year 11 and Year 12 students who are enrolled in and have completed the relevant Interstate Language course units (Units 3 and 4) at a school or community language school.
2. available to Year 12 non-school candidates, who are enrolled in at least three other examinations in the same year as sitting the Interstate Language examination.
